Colorado law requires school-aged children to be vaccinated against certain diseases, unless that child has a certificate of medical or nonmedical exemption on file. You must file an annual certificate of exemption at each school or childcare facility the student attends. To protect unvaccinated children, students with an exemption from one or more required vaccines may be kept out of a school or child care during a disease outbreak.

The vaccines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics have undergone rigorous testing for safety and numerous studies have proven their effectiveness in preventing serious and life-threatening diseases. Green Mountain Pediatrics is a vaccinating clinic, and our providers do not sign medical or nonmedical vaccine exemptions. In rare cases, our providers will send patients seeking medical exemptions to a specialist for evaluation.

The state of Colorado allows parents/guardians to take an Online Immunization Education Module to obtain a non-medical exemption for their child. This module is free, available 24/7, and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. The providers at Green Mountain Pediatrics encourage parents/guardians to complete the Online Immunization Education Module if they want a non-medical vaccine exemption for their child.
