Appointments

Well-Child Checks, medication checks, and visits regarding a chronic issue will be scheduled in advance. We provide same day sick appointments; to ensure we have enough open appointment slots on any given day, we ask that you call the day you need the appointment – not before.

Missed appointments cost our practice and prevent our providers from seeing patients who could have used the time dedicated to your appointment. Please call our office as soon as you know you will be unable to make your appointment. If an appointment is missed and we do not hear from you, you may be assessed a $15 “No Show” fee. Multiple “no shows” per family within a twelve month period may result in dismissal from the practice.

We do not accept walk-ins to the clinic, as we must give priority to the patients who scheduled their appointments in advance. If a parent brings their child for a walk-in appointment, we will do our best to see the child; however, we cannot guarantee that our schedule will allow this.

Insurance and Billing

We accept insurance plans from most major insurance carriers and will file claims on your behalf. We must be considered in-network for your plan in order for your child’s visit to be covered. Please review your benefits before your appointment to ensure you understand your financial responsibility, including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and non-covered charges.

Co-pays are due on the date of service when you check in for your child’s appointment. We accept cash, card, or check.

Medication Checks & Refills

In order to prescribe your child medication on an ongoing basis, we must see them every six months for a medication check. This visit will confirm that they are taking the medication as directed, that there are no significant side effects, and that the medication is working as intended.

If your child needs a medication refill, we ask that you notify us at least 48 hours in advance. This time allows us to process the refill, account for any shortages the pharmacy may have, and ensure that your child doesn’t go without medication.

Vaccine Exemptions

Green Mountain Pediatrics is a vaccinating clinic, and our providers do not sign medical or nonmedical vaccine exemptions. In rare cases, our providers will send patients seeking medical exemptions to a specialist for evaluation. The state of Colorado allows parents/guardians to take an Online Immunization Education Module to obtain a non-medical exemption for their child, and we recommend that parents pursue that avenue for exemptions. Check out Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment: Vaccine Exemptions for more information.

Audio and Video Recording

To protect the privacy of our patients, our staff, and our providers, Green Mountain Pediatrics does not allow audio or video recording during appointments. If you would like to record some or all of your child’s appointment, please ask the provider and Medical Assistant working with you for their express permission to do so. If we learn that an appointment has been recorded in any way without the explicit consent of the provider and Medical Assistant, the patient will be dismissed from the practice.

Respectful Behavior

We know that you are deeply invested in your child’s health and well-being – we are, too! – and that sometimes things happen that are stressful and frustrating. We believe that everyone who enters or calls our office deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, and we expect our staff to be treated the same way. We have a zero tolerance policy for parents/guardians/patients who use threatening or vulgar language with our staff. If this occurs, the patient will be dismissed from the practice.
